Redmi 4 Prime/4/4A Flash Tutorial (Lock Bootloader)


Hello Redmi 4 Prime/4A/4 users , You people knew that xiaomi corp. delayed to release their Global ROM for Redmi 4 series. Because of customers expectation seller or distributor pre-installed Custom Global ROM which is fully based on English language. But in that case customer will unable to get any official miui update. So today I helped you to change your Redmi 4 Prime smartphone ROM version. This tutorial will help you to switch from Cutom to Global/China Stable/Dev ROM .

To flash your MI smartphone you need to download below software:

  1. Mi Flash Tools (x64bit) or Alternative  Link
  2. Fastboot ROM  For Redmi 4 Prime/4A/4 (Global Stable or China Stable or Developer)
  3. 64 Bit Windows (7/8/8.1/10)
  4. winrar
  5. 7zip

Now Let’s start our tutorial

This tutorial is divided into several steps . Shortly I’ll describe it below…

Step one: Enable USB Debugging

Step Two: Install Mi Flash Tools

Step Three: Switch to Download Mod

Step Four: Flash Fast boot ROM via MI Flash Tool (64 bits Version)

Now am going to describe this four process :

Step One: To Enable USB Debugging 

First of all go to settings To about and Tap on MIUI  Version max 10 Times

Then again go to settings >>  Additional Settings >> Developer Option

USB Debug 3Step Two: To Install MI Flash Tools x64 bit 

First of All Follow this link to know how to Disable Driver Signature

MiFlash Tool installation process is as same as normal software installation. Just follow the below instruction during MiFlash Tools installation

During MIflash Tools  Installation this dialogue box will appear on your Desktop Screen .Just Click on Install this driver software anyway to complete the MIFlash Tools installation.

Now Check the Mi Driver from My Computer>> Right Click (Mouse)>> Manage>> Device Manager. or simply search the device manager from start menu search option .


Step Three: Switch to download mod

First of all switch off your redmi 4  or redmi 4 Prime or Redmi 4A device. Then go to recovery mood by pressing the combination of Power key + Volume Up key which is shown in below picture and then click on download and it will automatically go to download mood


Now again go to the device manager and Check the Qualcomm Port

Step Four: Fastboot ROM Flash via MIFlash Tools  .

Remember MIFlash tools must be 64bits version .

To Flash Fastboot ROM via MI Flash tools 64 bit  follow the below steps.

  1. Open MIFlash Tools 64 bits version from My Computer>> Local Disk C >> Program Files >> Xiaomi or My Computer>> Local Disk C>> Xiaomi

Please select the Flash all option.

2.1 Now extract the downloaded fastboot ROM which is .tgz format and extract it via 7zip software.

2.2 Now click on browse and select your Fastboot ROM i.e. markw_images_6.12.22_20161222.0000.00_6.0_cn

3.Now Click on refresh button and check the COM port Number(i.e. COM10 it will be varied)

4. Now click on Flash option wait for the confirmation message  as like as below image .

It may take upto 300 sec or more  don’t worry .

The operation completed Successfully . Congratulations Now You have an official MIUI on your devices .

N.B: Please don’t install MIFlash Tools 32 bit. It will stuck or brick your devices. If you face such kind of problem i.e. insufficient storage please check the MIflash Tools version and  must open  it from Local Disk C>> Program Files>> Xiaomi >> MiFlash Tools .

    1. Yes Brother kenzo means Redmi Note 3 Pro code name. I did’t update the Screen short. But I mentioned the code name for Redmi 4 prime in Art 2.2 i.e. markw and I think Redmi 4 prime users may know their device code name i.e. markw.
